Brazil – Motorcycles For National Pastors – BRA003

Roads in the Amazon are few and rudimentary. Even the  Federal highways are often nearly impassable, and many villages and small population clusters are reached by way of narrow dirt roads filled with ruts, potholes, mud, and soft sand.

PAZ national workers – pastors and church-planting supervisors – often walk for hours through the jungle to visit the churches they oversee, and to evangelize in villages that do not yet have a church. Buses travel to a few of the villages, but often end up suck in the mud or deep sand, leaving the travelers to walk the rest of the way, or wait hours for another bus to come by.

A motorcycle is a very practical and economical way for our church workers to make their rounds. With a motorcycle, they can travel easily from village to village, even on the worst roads and narrowest trails.

We currently have many church-planting supervisors whose work would be greatly helped by a motorcycle. Of these, most also need their motorcycle license, which is very expensive here and is a financial hardship for them to acquire.

A Honda 150cc motorcycle currently costs around $3,500 new, and a license is about $500. The goal of this project is one motorcycle and license for $4,000, to be renewed when the current goal is reached.

Your gift of support will help us equip our national workers with the means to more effectively reach the precious people of the Amazon with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
